It is a given so we take it for granted. A high school education should be desired and achieved by all given the point stated it is FREE and we all love that four letter word. High School should be more geared at directing students towards a career path. If college is the route you want to take we prepare you for that and if you want to explore another route we can help with that. To me that is what is lacking within the education system on the high school level. And because it is Free doesn't always mean it is getting the job done.
